Web Portfolio
See a selection of the Website Work and Web Design I have produced over the years
Website for Howland Design
Previously running as jakehowland.com, this website was established in April 2018 to market the company itself. Proposed additions include a Blog to update on thoughts and client work and an automated quoting service for print work.
Website for HS Visuals
I was asked by Harley of HS Visuals to create a website from scratch for his Videography business. The website was a simple WordPress development with a homepage, a services list and a portfolio full of YouTube videos. It was built to be fully responsive and made extensive use of existing videos and newly created graphics in Adobe Illustrator. This is one of many pieces of work for HS Visuals, with plenty more to come in the future.
Website for Direct Order Blinds
This website was made during my time at Blinds4Sale for their sister company, Direct Order Blinds. This website marked my first experience in developing a Magento site, a platform focused on E-Commerce. I was also responsible for the daily running and maintenance of the system, as well as the maintenance of multiple Social Media accounts for them. My typical daily tasks included listing products, updating listings, creating and uploading price tables and managing orders and processing steps.
Website for Boston Blinds
This website was made during my time at Blinds4Sale for Boston Blinds, the company that dealt with local fittings. A simple WordPress site, it aimed to list all of their product ranges and give some brief details about the company, their commercial work and to contact them. This website underwent a complete overhaul from Howland Design in May 2018, aiming to improve SEO throughout the site, as well as update to newer technologies throughout to ensure a better responsive experience.
Website for The Farm
This is the first website designed for a Howland Design client. The website was a simple 5-page site for The Farm, a CL certified Caravan and Motorhome site in Frithville, just outside of Boston. The site was enjoyable to build, being given free reign on the design, as well as a blank slate for the design and the branding guidelines. There were also opportunities for Graphics work with the creation of a collection of icons for use on the site.
Website for Blinds4Sale
This website was made during my time at Blinds4Sale for the company itself. This was an extension of the Direct Order Blinds, both running from the same installation of Magento. This meant it used the same product catalogue used by Direct Order Blinds, saving time and effort when uploading the products to the catalogue, as well as saving time uploading photos and pricing.
